No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure survival game developed and published by the indie studio Hello Games. It was released worldwide in August 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, while an Xbox One release is scheduled for July 2018. The game is built around four pillars: exploration, survival, combat, and trading. Players are free to perform within the entirety of a procedurally generated deterministic open universe, which includes over 18 quintillion planets. Through the game’s procedural generation system, planets have their own ecosystems with unique forms of flora and fauna, and various sentient alien species may engage the player in combat or trade within planetary systems. Players advance in the game by mining for resources to power and improve their spacecraft, tools, and spacesuit for survival, buying and selling resources using credits earned by documenting flora and fauna, and otherwise seeking out the mystery around the Atlas, an entity at the center of the universe.

Hello Games has launched the newest free update for No Man’s Sky, called Next. The update makes massive overhauls to the game by adding multiplayer, character customization, command freighters, and visual upgrades. Next is the fourth major update to No Man’s Sky, following Foundation, Pathfinder, and Atlas Rises.

No Man’s Sky originally launched on PS4 and PC in August 2016, and was harshly criticized for a perceived lack of content. Although multiple updates have since expanded the number of activities that players can do, Sony management admits the PR strategy “wasn’t great” and No Man Sky designer Sean Murray acknowledged that he made “mistakes.”

Despite the initial backlash at launch, No Man’s Sky’s updates have slowly earned the game a growing playerbase. “One day I hope to reach a point where I feel No Man’s Sky is ‘finished,’ but luckily there’s still so much more we want to do,” Murray said.

The most boring piece of trash I've ever played

  3. Hat Kid

The multi-player was shoehorned in. You can tell they didn't intend for this to be a multi-player game. For example, you can't share a base, you can't share quests, can't share a freighter, can't share loot. Also, there isn't really any "adventures" you can go on with a friend. The core gameplay is a grind fest centered around mining for resources till you run out of inventory space, and then selling your shit. Most of the time all the people you're playing with will all be off doing their own shit because there is literally no incentive for players to work together. Not to mention multiplayer is broken right now, disconnects and crashes up the wazoo.

why are all next gen games so cartoony?, are they cutting corners on textures like dishonoured? I thought with the advent of next gen, games would look amazing but I gotta say they have all been a major underwhelming disappointment, now it's just a platform for indoctrination and agenda pushing and money grabbing becuase fuck you slave, gimme your money and get back to work.

  8. donkirot samy

The game looks so empty…it doesn't give anything attractive to look at or to play to. Honestly looks so repetitive and boring

    look heres a mini review:
first: now you can customize your character and make it look funny (i have a dwarf tiger frog)and then laugh with ur friends about u being balls (idk why this happened but we became floating balls for some time XD) they have added multuplayer but that doesnt mean u have to have friends MAKE NEW FRIENDS!
second: every planet not only feels REAL it als feels unique like i have encountered a mostly ocean planet and started building an underwater base (but then got a land manipulator and built a bunker underground XD) and everything was radiated and toxic and there swere storms and the creatures were like super creepy underwater like they evolves to survive in these places and the creatures on land had hard shells and would moatly roam around water
third:now it feels way nore better in the sence that harvesting minerals isnt just grinding ITS SURVIVAL like u have to get alot of carbon to build a base on my planet before a storm fucks u up (or u hide underwater like a scaredy cat aka me XD)and u get carbon for fuel and u need to get carbon for ur tools (yeah i do cansume alot of carbon)and then u go to space and trade all ur fucking money FOR A MULTI TOOL BUT THEN A COOL SHIP THAT U HAD THE EXACT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR LANDS TWICE (YEAH 2)ONLY TO MAKE U FEEL MORE BAD

    in the end,good game guys

This game sucks in PC and if you look at Steam, you'll see people with high end machines complaining about that (I bought the game for pc and it really sucks).
You need a 15k usd machine to have stable 30~40 fps.

  21. piraat6666

On PC version you can duplicate items in refiner, just place refiner on the ground then place item you want to be duplicated in the refiner, then place another refiner very close to the first one, now open second refiner and you will see the same amount of resources in there.

  22. Ivar Liane

    So, is it worth buying?

  23. philippe fleury

my game never crashed yet , maybe ps4 pro is better for the game ?

  24. jdj9

"Does it still suck"? No, your mom does.

  25. Mrpanda8000

    Its gone from a 5/10 to a 6/10

  26. Matthew McBrine

It's still a boring repetitive grind where every planet you warp to makes you run out of fuel in your ship constantly, meaning you need to gather resources, meaning you need to grind on every planet and also for everything else, but they kick you right in the dick when you realize that your mining laser runs out of energy after 5-7 seconds of usage. Also theirs still just nothing to do, and along with that the A.I. is still awful and broken, AND I no amount of Multiplayer features is going to make this game better, or any base building either. They need to make quality of life changes to make me wan't to buy the game again. And until then I'm still gonna say yes this game might not smell like a piece of shit anymore, but it's still a piece of shit none the less. This game is starting to remind me of Destiny and how that game was poorly managed, even though little things do happen that do make the game feel really fun and overall interesting, that doesn't mean it's all that great though.

  27. Tyler Genereux

Does anyone want to play together im nervous to buy and play it, but maybe with a friend who knows more about it would help alot

  28. Guy Smiley

You totally sound like Jello Biafra.

  29. Danny SJ

You played for like an hour after the release of the update to get this uploaded ASAP for Views

You have not succeeded in convincing anyone with an IQ of over 100
This is a shameless cash grab

    All Opinions should be Respected

    IF IT'S WRONG, GTF OOUUUT

  31. allenk727

Anyone else stuck of the leap quest? I activated the portal and when I walk through it I end up on the other side. It doesn't teleport me. Now the portal is gone I am at the centre and I can't finish the quest and can't get exocrafts.

  32. Christina Veldman

Dled the update right away. My game never crashed. Prolly cuz I started over fresh?

  33. John -

Big bases on every moon? Isn't there 17,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets?

  34. Adam Ebsworth

Have this on xbox one x and it's only crashed twice on me also dude stock up on warp fuel, I always carry more fuel than I'm gonna need so I can enjoy the exploration side of it lol

  35. FireFox Bancroft

LOL dismantling your Obsolete Tech gives you a chance to get advanced technology that you can use to upgrade stuff.

  36. Damon Driver

I still have no respect for them, whatsoever. They can update all they want, it doesn't eliminate the blatant lying and bullshitting. They're only updating to save face, and to keep their company alive. They probably didn't expect all the backlash being a smaller company, but sure enough they got hammered. Now they want to improve it. They're not going it for gamers, they're doing it for themselves.

  37. Rado D. B

They added some new features but its still ultimately the same shit. Its right now a time killer really, you still collect and collect to go to the next planet to do the same shit over and over

  38. country side

    Still sucks

  39. thesvc2006

    eeLLLEVEN

  40. GhostCreek

Its still pretty shit. They tossed a handful of glitter on the steaming pile, but the core of the game is still one tedious grind with horrible menus everywhere. Planets are also still devoid of anything interesting and the controls are a pile of slop. How anyone lends praise to this is beyond me.

  41. ♛ Huffdaddy™

the game doesn't suck anymore and I recommend everyone to try it / try it again

  42. Quartermaster

Things that were promised during it's release
    Many unique enemies
    Actual weapons
    Proper unique planets
    Space battles
    Multiplayer

  43. eLeSDe DeMTe

Smoke some weed and it will all come together

  44. RedMoth27

    Thanks your videos are awesome!

  45. Tommy Richard

Yes you heard me right A-leven times!! Lol, just bustin you. Thanks for the video!

  46. CEWIIH

Agreed, it's better but I feel that ultimately it's still the same monotonous, repetitive, dull loop. Space should be a wondrous, scary, amazing place of discovery but this game just makes it boring!
